By not having a defined front-end, modern eCommerce platforms allow front-end developers to create new ordering experiences that don’t require the standard desktop screen, such as order placement via conversational commerce (voice recognition technology and voice assistants like Google Home or Amazon Alexa), wearable technologies, in-app ordering experiences (i.e. placing an order within the Instagram app), or other ordering devices (like the Amazon Dash button).
