At Four51, our six core values drive action and purpose across the entire organization. We’re dedicated to personal and professional ownership, agility, dreaming big, fun, collaboration and more.

One of Four51’s core values is to Give Back – we’re dedicated to making the communities we live and work in better than before we touched them.

To exercise this core value, we find ways that we can give back via our people and our profits. This comes to life in a variety of ways. We encourage employees to take time off to volunteer and give back to causes they care about. We organize volunteer and charitable opportunities for the whole company to participate in together. We rally around causes that are important to our employees.

This year, we’re giving back to a cause that has hit very close to home.

On February 25th of this year, Four51’s long-time office administrator, Kari Weiss, along with her husband, Kevin, and family, lost their 27-year-old son and brother unexpectedly to a pulmonary embolism, something no family ever should and never expects to go through. Eric was known for his infectiously warm smile, perfect goofy laugh, famous bear hugs, and great conversations, and was settling down and starting his life with his best friend and soulmate, Torrie.

Today in the United States, 1 in every 4 deaths is caused by heart disease. It’s now the leading cause of death in both men and women.

Heart disease will affect just about all of us in some way, shape or form throughout our lives.

So this year, Four51 will be walking in and fundraising for the American Heart Association’s Heart Walk, happening on Saturday, May 18th in Minneapolis. We’ll be walking in honor of Eric, and all those affected by heart disease.

To give back in the biggest way we can, employees are encouraged to fundraise, raise awareness, and rally support around the cause, and in-office fundraising events (i.e. Mini Golf Tournament, Wine Pull, All-you-can-eat Breakfast) for the weeks leading up to the walk are helping to guide additional fundraising efforts. Four51 plans to match all employee donations up to $5000 as well.

To date, we’ve raised over $10,000 and have over 40 walkers on our team.

If you feel moved to help us in our efforts to give back to the Weiss family and to raise awareness and support for the American Heart Association’s efforts to end this disease, join us!
